This video, which is being developed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, is aimed at advancing water conservation literacy among California youth, particularly in grades two through five. The video is a sequel to Hey! Something’s Fishy at the River, which was distributed to more than 1,200 schools and other venues, publicly premiered at the Wild and Scenic Environmental Film Festival, and earned a spot in the festival’s road trip to 100 venues nation-wide. In line with the State Science Standards, more than 600 sets of pre- and post-tests indicated significant learning in all three areas tested – cognitive, affective and intent for behavior change. CWF was asked to serve as fiscal agent to receive funds being raised for the new video to be produced in 2015.
