Through grants received from the Wildlife Conservation Board, CWF has assisted the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) in completing more than 20 land management plans for wildlife areas and ecological reserves throughout the state. Currently underway are planning processes for Knoxville Wildlife Area, San Jacinto Wildlife Area and Carrizo Plains Ecological Reserve. CWF assists CDFW with obtaining Requests for Proposals from qualified consultants, interviewing and rating candidates, securing contracts and paying invoices, while CDFW staff works with consultants on the content of the plans.
